Luminous Words Project

The Luminous Words Project is a new initiative first suggested at our Autumn 2010 Meeting "Language in Health Care: Inspiring or Dispiriting?".

Attendees felt that there were a lot of words that seemed essential to health care (not least the words ‘health’ and ‘care’!) that seem in some way to be marginalised, so we thought it would be illuminating, participatory, and fun to begin to create a kind of “Angel’s Thesaurus” of “luminous” words that we find important but neglected – and perhaps also a “Devil’s Thesaurus” of their tawdry or non-luminous equivalents!
